Lindsay Nemelka
Hometown: Alpine, Ut
Why I like being a pet buddy: I am definitely the animal-lover in my family. Even though I wasn't allowed the loads of pets that I would have liked growing up, I cherished the ones I had. And as often as I could, I'd seek opportunities to go and play with the neighbor's animals. I think that not being allowed to have pets in my apartment is one of the reasons why I love this job so much. I love meeting new pets -it's so easy to love them and become friends.
About my pets: When I was little I practically had to beg and beg to convince my parents to get a dog. After much deliberation, we got Smudge. A Lhaso Apso with the cutest teddy-bear face you've ever seen. Our favorite game is playing keep the ball away from Lindsay, and he loves to beg for treats. Then my dad got me the best present I've ever had on my 15th birthday: Chance, an ADORABLE little Netherland Dwarf rabbit. His favorite game turned out to be let's tease the dog. Together, Smudge and Chance are my pride and joy. I love it when we just lay out on the cool lawn together, some of my favorite memories happened there. I have also had fish, and a little frog I keep secretly in my apartment room (don't tell the land-lord).
I look forward to getting to know your pet and having fun together!
Other interests: I love doing all kinds of art, and enjoy creative writing. Along with being outdoors I love to swim, hike, and play hockey.
Education: I am currently an English major with a creative writing emphasis and Biology minor from Utah State University. Biotech certified from Mountainland Applied Technology College.

Why I like being a pet buddy: My mother was the one who encouraged my love for animals. I have had many animals, including: pet lizards, fish, dogs, pheasants, and snakes. I love the excitement that comes with caring for and being around pets. I feel very comfortable meeting new people and taking care of their animals is a way I can help out in the community.
About my pets: I have had a lot of animals in my life. Some I have found and some I bought. I would like to share with you a little about my last dog. My last dog was a smart, fun chocolate lab that I named Alex. I got him for my 14 birthday and he was a great companion for me as I grew up and went through my teenage years. I taught him great obedience. The hunting that we did together was his natural instinct, and is still some of my best memories. I miss having such a great dog; he passed away two years ago from old age. I have also loved and had pet birds, fish, and reptiles. I look forward to loving your animals the same way I loved my own.
Other interests: I enjoy Camping, wilderness survival, backcountry skiing, fly fishing, fly tying, and Mt. Biking. I have been a Utah Fly Fishing Guide for over four years now and a Utah Real Estate Agent for over one year.
Education: B.A. Business-Entrepreneurship from Utah Sate University(2009). First aid certified. EMT b certified.
